There are speculations that another state governor elected on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party is planning to join the All Progressives Congress.
Rivers State Governor, NYESOM WIKE, made this known in an interview, a day after Governor DAVE UMAHI of Ebonyi State defected from PDP for APC.
Without mentioning any name; Governor WIKE said the next PDP governor who was planning to leave will also come up with an excuse just like Governor UMAHI.
He said PDP chieftains are not surprised about the defection of Governor UMAHI, whom he said had been romancing with the APC for a long time.
Meanwhile; President MUHAMMADU BUHARI has welcomed the defection of Governor DAVE UMAHI of Ebonyi State from PDP to APC.
President BUHARI also said he was proud of Governor UMAHI for taking the bold decision according to his conscience and not based or external force.
The President’s position was made known in a statement released by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, GARBA SHEHU.
