President Buhari commissions Dangote fertilizer plant and airport terminal in Lagos State

President Muhammadu Buhari has commissioned the Dangote fertiliser plant built at a cost of two point five billion dollars at Ibeju Lekki in Lagos State.

Speaking at the event, president Buhari said Dangote Group is the second-largest employer of labour in Nigeria after the Federal Government.

The president added that the contributions of Dangote Industries have further confirmed Nigeria’s leadership in Africa.

In his welcome address, the President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, said that the plant will make Nigeria self-sufficient in fertilizer production and create employment for young Nigerians.

On his part, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu restated his administration’s commitment in providing enabling and conducive environment for investors.

In a related development, President Muhammadu Buhari also commissioned the newly built terminal at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

President Buhari in his keynote address, said the new terminal is part of his administration roadmap to boost the aviation industry.

On her part, the Lagos airport manager, Victoria Shin-Aba, described the opening of the terminal as an exciting experience for her and staff of the airport.

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, Yobe State governor, Mai-Mala Buni are some of the dignitaries that attended the commissioning ceremony.
