Nigerians celebrate, as Burna Boy, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage shine at 2021 Grammy

Nigerians are singing the praises of Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Tiwa Savage for their awards at this year’s Grammy.

Fellow singers, such as Davido, Dj Cuppy, Don-Jazzy, Adekunke Gold, Small Doctor, Timi Dakolo, and M.I, described the awards as victory for all Nigerian artists.

Also, the President of the Performing Musician Association of Nigeria, Pretty Okafor, described the Grammy awards the Nigerians singers as a new beginning for Nigerian music.

On his part; President Muhammadu Buhari has sang the praises of Nigerian singers who made the country proud at the Grammy Awards in the United States.

President Buhari, in a statement by his spokesman, GARBA SHEHU, acknowledged the awards won by Burna Boy And Wizkid.

He also acknowledged efforts of forerunners like King Sunny Ade and Femi Kuti whose creative works earned them Grammy nominations in the past.

The President said he believes that the record-breaking musical achievements are a recognition of the Nigerian creative talents, adding that the awards would open doors to other aspiring citizens.

The United States Mission in Nigeria has also joined in the celebration of Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Tiwa Savage for winning their first Grammy awards.

The US Mission, in a message on its social media handles, said it was wonderful to see the growing U.S.-Nigeria collaborations with American artists.

It noted That Burna Boy’s album, “Twice as Tall” won Best Global Music Album award; WIZKID bagged the award of the Best Music Video for “Brown Skin Girl”, which featured Beyonce’s Daughter Blue Ivy Carter And Saint JHN.

On her part, Tiwa Savage won a Grammy for her contribution to Cold Play’s 8th album “Everyday Life” which won the Album of the year award.
