Remodeled Glover Memorial Hall opens in Lagos

The entertainment and tourism sectors in Lagos State have receive a major boost following the completion of the renovation of the Glover Memorial Hall on the Lagos Island.

The facility, which is locate on Customs Streets of the Lagos, was first opened in 1887, and is the first host film shows and theater performances in Lagos.

The original Glover Memorial Hall was built in honour of the first Governor of Lagos, Sir John Howley Glover, who served from 1863 to 1872.

Speaking at the opening of the renovated Glover Memorial Hall, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, said it reflects the determination of his administration to rebuild Lagos and promote the entertainment and tourism sectors.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf, described the restoration of the Glover Hall as a boost for entertainment and tourism in Lagos State.

On his part; Oba Rilwan Akiolu of Lagos called on the Federal Government to support the Lagos State to make the city great.
