Russian Covid-19 vaccine records 92% protection

Russia has announced that its own Covid-19 vaccine, known as Sputnik V, recorded ninety-two percent protection from the coronavirus.

According to the result of the late stage trial published in The Lancet medical journal, the vaccine is said to be safe and offers complete protection against hospitalization and death.

The Sputnik vaccine is said to work in a similar way to the Oxford/AstraZeneca, which was developed in the UK, as well as the Janssen vaccine developed in Belgium.

Meanwhile; drugs giant Pfizer has said it expects to make up to fifteen billion US dollars from the sales of the coronavirus vaccine it developed with German firm BioNTech.
