Sanwo-Olu demands state police, special status for Lagos

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, joined participants at the opening ceremony of the Senate Public Hearing on the Review of the 1999 Constitution.

The Public Hearing, which is happening at the same time in twelve locations across the six geopolitical zones, is being done by the Senate Committee on Constitution Review.

The Lagos event is being chaired by Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who represents Lagos East Senatorial District.

In his speech while declaring the event open, Governor Sanwo-Olu made a demand for Lagos State to be given a special status in the Constitution.

Governor Sanwo-Olu also called for amendment of the constitution to allow the creation of state police in the country.
