The Senate has observed a moment of silence in honour of Doctor Chike Akunyili, who was killed by gunmen in Anambra State.
Doctor Akunyili, the husband of late former Minister of Information, Professor Dora Akunyili, is among eight people reportedly killed by gunmen in Anambra State is the last twenty-four hours.
Doctor Akunyili was ambushed and killed at Nkpor, while returning from a trip to Onitsha, while the other attacks happened at Agulu and Okoh.
Senator Uche Ekwunife, who is from Anambra State, informed her colleagues about the incidents in a motion under Matters of Urgent Public Importance.
