This report says if the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, is allowed to do things his own way, people who are caught for crude oil theft will face trial for treason.
Governor Wike said this is because of the damage caused by the activities of crude oil thieves to the economy and the environment.
Wike noted that the fight against crude oil thefts has continued to suffer because some top-ranking officers of the Nigerian military are deeply involved in the economic crime.
He was speaking during a meeting with the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Isiaka Oladayo Amao, who paid him a visit at the Government House in Port Harcourt.
