Gunmen have again attacked security operatives in the Southeast, killing policemen and military personnel in Anambra State.
Reports say that the latest incident happened at a police checkpoint in Neni, in Anaocha Local Government Area.
There was also an attack on a military outpost in Awkuzu, in Oyi Local Government Area, also in Anambra State, which is yet to be confirmed by the military authorities.
The unknown gunmen destroyed a police van in the attack at Neni, and also stole firearms belonging to the murdered security operatives.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed that the attack at Neni happened yesterday evening, and only one policeman was killed.
