A boat accident has claimed the life of one person on the Lagos Lagoon.
The accident involved a passenger boat that was traveling from CMS Ferry Terminal on the Lagos Island to Ikorodu.
The boat was carrying sixteen passengers when it left the island at about 4:35PM yesterday, before the accident happened.
The Lagos Area Manager of the National Inland Waterways Authority, Sarat Braimah, confirmed in a statement that the accident happened fifteen minutes after it left the CMS terminal.
Braimah said the boat capsized fifteen minutes into the journey, near Adekunle Waterfront, after it hit an object under the water.
