12 terrorists, 2 soldiers killed in Bula-Yobe battle

The Nigerian Army has confirmed an attempt by terrorists to overrun a military base in Borno State.

The incident happened on Sunday, at the Forward Operational Base at Bula Yobe, in Borno State.

Terrorists linked to the Boko Haram and Islamic State of West Africa Province attacked the base on gun trucks and several motorcycles.

However; the terrorists were confronted by troops of the 152 Task Force Battalion of the Nigerian Army, with the support of the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai.

The Director Army Public Relations, Brigadier General ONYEMA NWACHUKWU, said twelve terrorists were killed in the confrontation.

Brigadier General Nwachukwu also confirmed that two soldiers lost their life in the battle, while five others were wounded.

The Army spokesman said items recovered from the terrorists include a gun truck, a Self-Propelled Gun-9, one Dushika gun, one mounted QJC Machine Gun, one Light Machine Gun, and five AK 47 Rifles.
