2 groups claim leadership of APC National Caretaker Committee

The crisis rocking the ruling All Progressives Congress has worsened, with two groups laying claims to the leadership of the caretaker committee.

The new group is led by Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger State, which took over after Acting National Chairman and Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni traveled to Dubai for medical reasons.

Governor Bello called a meeting of the Caretaker Committee at the party’s national secretariat during which he swore in chairmen of the thirty-six state chapters of the APC.

The meeting was held after security operatives had earlier blocked the access road to the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.

However; the Secretary of the APC Caretaker Extraordinary National Convention Planning Committee, Jame Akpanudoedehe, has insisted that Governor Mai Mala Buni is still in charge of the party.

In the meantime; the Zoning Committee of the APC has submitted its report to Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger State.

The Committee presented the report during a meeting of the APC’s Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee chaired by Governor Bello.

Chairman of the Zoning Committee and Governor of Kwara State, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, presented the report during the meeting at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
