Seven governorship aspirants of the All Progressives Congress have withdrawn from the race for the party’s ticket in Ekiti State
They include former Minister of Works, Senator Dayo Adeyeye; Senator Opeyemi Bamidele; and Kayode Ojo.
Others are Demola Popoola; Femi Bamisile; Bamidele Faparusi; and Afolabi Oluwasola.
They alleged that the APC Primary Election Committee was made up of members who are loyal to Governor Kayode Fayemi.
Senator Bamidele also told newsmen in Ado-Ekiti that the process had been hijacked.
Earlier reports from Ado-Ekiti indicate that gunshots were fired at the APC State Secretariat in Ado-Ekiti, as some protesters stormed the location to register their complaints.
