Akpanudoedehe returns to APC secretariat

National Secretary of the Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee of the All Progressives Congress, John Akpanudodehe, has returned to the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

This followed earlier moves by some chieftains of the APC, including some serving state governors, to remove Akpanudoedehe from office.

Akpanudoedehe, who was led by a team of security operatives, declared that Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State remains the Acting National Chairman of the APC.

Later in a statement, Akpanudoedehe declared that there was no crisis within the governing APC, adding that the party remains strong and united.

He said all actions taken in the absence of Mai Mala Buni were done in acting capacity, and under his leadership as Caretaker Chairman of APC, contrary to speculations that he had been removed with some members of the party’s caretaker committee.
