The Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja has granted bail to suspected internet fraudster, Ismaila Mustapha, popularly known as Mompha.
Justice Mojisola Dada granted bail to Mompha in the sum of two hundred million naira and two sureties, at the resume trial today.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, had arraigned Mompha on Wednesday last week on fresh fraud charges involving six billion naira.
The accused and his company, Ismalob Global Investment Limited, are alleged to have laundered funds obtained through unlawful activity.
They also accused of retaining such funds, as well as transfer of funds for a suspect identified as Olayinka Jimoh, also known as Nappy Boy.
However; Mompha pleaded not guilty to the eight-count charge, following which the court fixed ruling for his bail application today, which was granted.
