Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, says President Muhammadu Buhari does not support the declaration of emergency rule in his state.
Governor Obiano made this known while addressing newsmen at the Presidential Villa in Abuja after a meeting with President Buhari.
The visit yesterday came a day after the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, threatened that emergency rule could be declared in Anambra due to violent attacks.
However, Governor Obiano said that the comment by the Attorney General was in the political interest of the All Progressives Congress.
In a separate television interview monitored in Lagos, Anambra State-born Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Emeka Etiaba, questioned the intention of the political leaders on the situation in his home state.
