Governor Wike calls for withdrawal of soldiers from politicians

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has observed that soldiers who should be engaged in fighting bandits and insurgents are being used to protect politicians and their properties.

Governor Wike made the observation during a meeting with the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru, at the Government House in Port Harcourt.

He challenged Lieutenant General Attahiru to make a difference and stop the involvement of the Nigerian Army in politics.

In his response; the Chief of Army Staff thanked Governor Wike for his contribution towards promoting peaceful coexistence among the various communities that lives in Rivers State.
