More Nigerians have continued to raise their voices in calling for the resignation or sacking of the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami.
The latest to join the agitation against Pantami is the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Ndudi Elumelu.
The PDP lawmaker from Delta State said PANTAMI’s past comments endorsing religious extremism constitutes a breach of his privilege.
Although Pantami had denounced the controversial comments, Representative Elumelu said he does not qualify to oversee the ministry of communications, which controls the database of Nigerians.
However; Ndudi Elumelu’s motion was blocked by the House Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, who overruled him on the ground that the matter had nothing to do with his privileges as a lawmaker.
