Lagos State Police Command deploys officers to Eleganza area of Lekki-Epe Expressway

Police have been moved into the Eleganza area on the Lekki-Epe Expressway in Lekki axis of Lagos following a violent protest.

Reports say trouble started after a tipper crushed a motorcyclist who was said to be driving against traffic, following which an angry mob attacked the driver and set the vehicle on fire.

The protesters also set up a bonfire on the ever-busy expressway, which disrupted the flow of traffic and forced businesses in the area to close shops.

In the meantime; policemen attached to the Rapid Response Squad, the Lagos State Taskforce, and nearby Divisional Police Stations have been moved to the area to restore normalcy.

Lasgidi FM News Desk understand that the Lagos Taskforce Commander, Yinka Egbeyemi, who is a Chief Superintendent of Police, was on ground at the scene of the violence.
