Lekki Tollgate Shooting: 2 members shun Lagos Judicial Panel

The Lagos Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Police Brutality and Restitution returned to work on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, without two of its nine members.

Just as we reported earlier; two of the Panel’s members who were absent are Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa and Rinuola Oduala.

Adegboruwa, who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, had in a statement over the weekend said he could no longer sit on the Panel.

This followed the arrest and beating of protesters by the police at the Lekki Tollgate last Saturday.

On her part; Oduala informed the panel last week about her withdrawal after it voted to approve the reopening of the Lekki Tollgate for business.

Meanwhile; Lagos State Judicial Panel has seen evidence of alleged killing of one Rashid Olanrewaju, by the police on October 21, 2020.

The brother to the deceased, Lekan Bankole showed the Panel photos, bullet casings and a video recording of the incident.
