Messy affair behind lock-up of aged father for over 12 months

More details have emerged about the police rescue of an aged man and his equally aged wife, who were allegedly locked up in their house in Ejigbo area of Lagos by their children for over twelve months.

Lasgidi FM’s Chukwuemeka Obioma visited the family compound at Number 47, Maria Okor Street, Ejigbo, but was told that Surajudeen Jaji had gone to the police station.

However, the House Help, Sekinat Bashiru, told our correspondent that trouble started after Surajudeen Jaji showed interest to marry a former maid of the family, which was resisted by his children.

The House Help later took our correspondent to speak with JAJI’s wife, Rasheedat, whom the police said was locked up together with her husband by their children.

Recall that the spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, had said that the children of Baba Surajudeen Jaji locked him up to stop him from selling his property.

Meanwhile; our correspondent also gathered that Surajudeen Jaji is now trying to negotiate with the police on the release of his children from the State CID, Panti.

But family sources claim that the man wants the children to take their mother away with them and never to return to his compound.
