Ngige’s absence stalls reconciliation meeting with JUSUN

Another attempt to persuade members of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria to end their over two weeks old strike has failed.

This is because JUSUN leaders yesterday staged a walkout from a reconciliation meeting with the Federal Government and State Governors.

The striking judiciary workers took the action due to the absence of the absence of the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige.

Reacting the development later; Senator Ngige explained why the meeting failed, and promised to reach out to JUSUN again.

Recall that the Nigerian Governors’ Forum had announced on Monday that it will by May begin implementation of financial autonomy for state legislative and judiciary.

But JUSUN rejected the announcement and refused to call off its strike on the ground that it was not invited to the meeting where the decision was reached.
