Panel hears testimonies on EndSARS protest shooting in Lagos

Action continued Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at the Lagos State Panel of Inquiry and Restitution for Victims of Police Brutality and Other Related Matters.

The sitting featured hearing of petitions arising from the EndSARS protest in October last year, and a medical doctor at the National Orthopedic Hospital was among those who testified before the panel.

Doctor Kehinde Alatise confirmed that he treated one Lekan Faleye for gunshot wound he allegedly suffered during the EndSARS protest at the Lekki tollgate on October 20.

Meanwhile; the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has responded to his invitation by the Judicial Panel of Police Brutality.

C.P. Odumosu was represented by Assistant Commissioner of Police, Oludotun Odubona, who is in charge of operations at the State Command.

ACP Odubona informed the panel what happened after hoodlums hijacked the EndSARS protest in October last year.

Lasgidi FM’s Najite Atirene reports that the police lawyer, Cyril Ajiofor, later requested the SARS Panel to adjourned to September 14th to present evidence.
