PDP Defends Gov Ikpeazu Over ‘Drunkard’ Remark: Rep Nkole gives Sen Adeyemi 48 hrs to apologise

Senator Smart Adeyemi’s description of Abia State Governor as a drunkard is still generating reactions from politicians in the state.

This time, a federal lawmaker from Abia State, Uko Nkole, has demanded that Senator ADEYEMI retract his comments and apologize to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

Nkole, who represents Arochukwu-Ohafia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, said it was with horror, disbelief and disappointment that he read Senator ADEYEMI’s comments.

He said the Senator for Kogi West Senatorial District acted in breach of the rules of the legislature and his comments during plenary at the Senate do not qualify for parliamentary submission.

The PDP lawmaker from Abia State wandered why Senator Adeyemi had to make the negative mention of Governor IKPEAZU when he was not the subject of the motion being debated by the Senate.

He said if Senator Adeyemi fails to do as demanded, he should be summoned before the National Assembly Joint Ethics and Privileges Committee to clarify his allegation against the Abia State Governor.

Similarly; the main opposition People’s Democratic Party has condemned Senator Smart Adeyemi’s attack on Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu.

The PDP also cautioned Senator Adeyemi of Kogi West it would not accept his unwarranted and unprovoked attack on any of its governors.

In a statement, the PDP said Senator Adeyemi acted in an irresponsible manner when he described Governor Ikpeazu as a drunkard.

The party said the Kogi Senator did not just attack Governor Ikpeazu, but he insulted the entire people of Abia State.
