PDP governors urge President Buhari to Electoral Act Amendment Bill

State governors elected on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party have called on President Muhammadu Buhari to avoid further and sign the Electoral Act Amendment Bill into law.

The appeal to the President is one of nine decisions reached by members of the PDP Governors Forum during their meeting in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

The PDP Governors who met in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, also called for an investigation into the petrol subsidy regime, with the view to end that they described as deceitful and false subsidy on fuel.

The Vice Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, while reading a joint statement by the group, said they also reviewed the state of the nation and the readiness of their party for the 2023 general election.

Governor Ikpeazu and his colleagues said by the delay in signing the Electoral Act Amendment Bill, President Buhari was showing his unwilling to give Nigerians a reformed electoral framework.
