The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has directed commanders of all formations under his command to carryout ‘show of force’ in corners of the states where criminals are found.
The directive by C.P. Odumosu is specifically to all Area Commanders, as well as Commanders of Taskforces, Tactical Teams, Police Mobile Force, Counter Terrorism Unit, the Rapid Response Squad, and other Operational Units under the Lagos state Command
C.P. Odumosu said the ‘show of force’ exercise is part of efforts by the State Police Command to keep criminals away from Lagos and reassure residents of their safety and protection.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, the Police Commissioner said the exercise is not meant to intimidate law abiding citizens.
CSP Ajisebutu said members of the public are also called upon to assist the police with useful and credible information about criminals and their activities in Lagos State.
