Police orders movement restriction in Delta State for council elections

Travelers will not be able to drive through Delta State on Saturday, March 6, 2021, as people of the state will be voting in local government elections.

The State Commissioner of Police, Ari Muhammed Ali, has ordered the restriction of vehicular movements from midnight on Friday till 4PM on Saturday.

The Acting Police Public Relations Officer, D.S.P. Bright Edafe, confirmed the directive in a statement to the media.

The police spokesman said those who would not be affected by the restriction of movement include petrol tanker drivers, electricity workers, and mobile telephone service providers.

Health workers, as well as officials of fire service and media houses are also allowed to go to their work place on the election day.
