Police parade Lagos BRT bus driver over murder of female passenger

The Lagos State Police Command has paraded one Nice Andrew Omininikoron; the driver of a BRT bus, for the murder of a twenty-two-year-old female passenger, Oluwabamise Ayanwole.

Nice Andrew Omininikoron was tracked down in Ogun State with the help of operatives of the Department of State Services, after he fled Lagos.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Adekunle Ajisebutu, confirmed the arrest of the suspect and two others, after the dead body of the victim was identified at the mortuary of the Mainland Hospital, Yaba.

In a statement obtained by Lasgidi FM News Desk, Ajisebutu, disclosed that the body of the young woman was taken to the mortuary after it was found lying on the Carter Bridge, by Ogogoro Community, in Lagos Island.

The police spokesman said the victim’s family members have been contacted and they have identified the dead body as that of Oluwabamise Ayanwole.

The young woman went missing on February 26, 2022, after she boarded a BRT bus allegedly driven by Omininikoron, on her way from Ajah to Oshodi.

Meanwhile; the family of late Oluwabamise Ayanwole is demanding justice over her alleged killing inside a BRT bus in Lagos.

The elder brother of the victim who identified himself as Oluwapelumi, made the call following the discovery of the body of his sister, nine days after her disappearance.

Oluwapelumi told reporters how he identified his murdered sister in a video that was shared on Facebook, after she was reportedly dropped from a BRT bus.

Oluwapelumi also said another member of the family has visited the mortuary in Yaba to confirm the body of Oluwabamise Ayanwole.

Speaking further, Oluwapelumi alleged that the management of the BRT company refused to arrest the driver of the bus that allegedly picked up his late sister.
