President Buhari says lifting 100 million Nigerians out of poverty is achievable

President Muhammadu Buhari says that the plans of his administration to lift one hundred million Nigerians out of poverty is still on course and will be achieved.

President Buhari made the boast during a meeting yesterday with members of his Presidential Economic Advisory Council.

The President said the ambitious policy did not come by accident, but a deliberate one that is being pursued with determination.

He was responding to a recommendation by the Council for a poverty reduction strategy that would usher in a rapid, sustained, sustainable and inclusive economic growth.

President Buhari requested the Presidential Economic Advisory Council to present its report to the Federal Executive Council.

The Presidential Economic Advisory Council is chaired by Professor Doyin Salami, with some scholars and major players in the private sector as members.
