President Muhammadu Buhari has launched two major projects of his administration in Lagos State.
They are the Lagos-Ibadan Standard Gauge rail line and the maritime security initiative known as Deep Blue.
President Buhari arrived in Lagos yesterday morning to perform the ceremonies, which was his first visit to the main commercial city in a long time.
Speaking at the Mobolaji Johnson Train Station in Ebute-Metta, President Buhari directed his ministers to begin work for the development of other rail corridors across the country.
The governors of Lagos, Ogun and Oyo State were also present at the launch of the rail project, which runs across their various states.
In his remarks; Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos expressed the hope that the rail project would lead to improvement of the national economy.
