REPS investigate funding of refineries maintenance

The House of Representatives has opened an investigation into the approval of one point five billion US dollars for the repairs of the Port Harcourt Refinery.

The investigation is being conducted by the House Committee on Petroleum Resources Downstream, which is expected to organise an investigative hearing on the matter.

The House investigation is to determine how funds approved for previous repairs of the Port Harcourt Refinery, and other refineries in the country, were spent.

The Green Chamber of the National Assembly took the decision following the adoption of a motion moved by Representative ONOFIOK LUKE of the PDP from Akwa Ibom State.
