Rivers State Government discovers missing aircraft in Germany after 10 years

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, says he has discovered an aircraft belonging to the state government, which was abandoned in Germany.

Governor Wike said the Rivers State government discovered the Legacy 600 aircraft through detailed investigation, adding that there was no record of the movement of the plane.

Wike alleged that aircraft was flown to Germany and abandoned there in 2012, when the current Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, was the governor of Rivers State.

According a statement from the Rivers State Government House, Governor Wike said he led officials from the state to locate the aircraft at the General Atomics Aerotec in Munich, Germany.

He said efforts were now being made to repair and retrieve the aircraft, which he said would cost the Rivers State government over three million euros.
