Rivers state police parades 18 illegal artisanal refiners

The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Friday Eboka, has paraded eighteen suspects allegedly involved in illegal refining of crude oil.

C.P. Eboka paraded the suspects at the command headquarters in Port Harcourt, a day after Governor Nyesom Wike declared nineteen persons wanted in Obio-Akpor and Ikwerre local government areas.

The Commissioner of Police told newsmen that the suspects in custody were arrested in different parts of the state, and would be charged to court tomorrow.

Governor Wike had declared the suspects wanted as part of efforts to deal with the problem of black soot pollution in Rivers State.
