Vice President Yemi Osinbajo joins 2023 presidential race

Nigeria’s Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has become the latest politician to join the 2023 presidential race.

Professor Osinbajo made his declaration in an early morning televised address, in which he appealed to Nigerians to support him.

Professor Osinbajo said having been working with President Muhammadu Buhari over the past seven years, he understands Nigeria’s challenges and how to solve them.

Professor Osinbajo also said if given the chance to be President in 2023, he would work towards uniting Nigerians.

Vice President Osinbajo is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria who previously served as Attorney-General of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007.

A graduate of the University of Lagos and the London School of Economics, he lectured at his Alma Mater in Lagos while practising law until 1999.

Osinbajo retired from government in 2007 and returned to law and lecturing along with pastoral duties at the Redeemed Christian Church of God after serving in the Tinubu’s administration.

In 2015, he was tapped as running mate to Muhammadu Buhari for that year’s presidential election.
