Bad weather disrupts travel plans for Tinubu birthday colloquium in Kano

Bad weather disrupted the travel plans of several dignitaries, who were expected to attend the 69th birthday colloquium of APC national leader, Bola Tinubu, in Kano yesterday.

Those who could not travel to Kano include Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha; the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola; and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, was also unable to travel to Kano; as well as Governors KAYODE FAYEMI of Ekiti; Dapo Abiodun of Ogun; and Gboyega Oyetola of Osun.

Also, President Muhammadu Buhari delivered his address to the gathering in Kano through a virtual link from the State House in Abuja, in which he stressed that Nigeria was better and stronger together.

Meanwhile; APC national leader and former governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, has called for the recruitment of fifty million Nigerian youths into the Nigerian Army to boost the fight against all forms of security threats confronting the nation.

Tinubu, who made the call in an address at his birthday colloquium in Kano, said that Nigeria was under-policed.

He said the government was competing with armed robbers and bandits in the recruitment of young Nigerians who are unemployed.

The former governor of Lagos State also explained that he decided to host his birthday event in Kano to prove that the Yoruba and Fulani people are united.

Meanwhile; former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has advised Bola Tinubu to get a trusted person to always translate to him what is said in Hausa and Fulfulde.

Senator Sani shared his advice to the former Lagos State governor in a message on his Twitter handle to wish him happy 69th birthday.
