Former Lagos State Governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has withdrawn his statement on the recruitment of fifty million Nigerian youths into the Army.
Tinubu said the statement he made during his 69th birthday colloquium in Kano, while suggesting how to tackle the rising security challenge in Nigeria, was done in error.
In a statement released a day after the event in Kano, Tinubu’s media assistant, Tunde Rahman, said he intended to recommend the recruitment of fifty thousand youths into various national security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigerian Army.
Rahman begged Nigerians to forgive any confusion due to what he described as TINUBU’s innocent error.
