EFCC nabs 30 cybercrime suspects in Kwara, as FBI seeks to strengthen partnership

Operatives of the Ilorin Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have arrested thirty suspected internet fraudsters in the Kwara State capital.

The EFCC confirmed the arrest in a statement with a long list of names of suspects, who are said to be mostly students.

The spokesman for the anti-graft agency said items recovered from the suspects include ten exotic cars, mobile phones, laptops, charms and fraudulent documents.

In the meantime; some officials of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation have visited the office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in Benin City, Edo State.

The EFCC confirmed in a statement that the three-man FBI team, led by the US Assistant Legal Attaché, Joseph Zadik, were on a mission to strengthen partnership in tackling cybercrimes and other forms of financial crimes.

The Head Benin Zonal Office of the EFCC, Muhtar Bello, who received the FBI team, assured that the Commission will continue to partner with them in the investigation of economic and financial crimes.
