Federal High Court orders CBN to unfreeze End SARS promoters’ accounts

A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the Central Bank of Nigeria to unfreeze the bank accounts of 20 EndSARS protesters.

Justice Ahmed Mohammed gave the order after counsel to the CBN and the legal representative of the protesters agreed to settle out of court.

Meanwhile; Rinuola Oduala; who is one of the EndSARS protesters whose bank accounts were frozen, has threatened to take legal action against the CBN.

In a message on her Twitter handle; Rinuola Oduala said she had briefed her lawyers at Falana and Falana Chambers to begin the legal action.

The young activist said she was accused of money laundering and terrorism but no investigation was done for three months that her bank accounts were frozen.

She described the action of the Federal Government, through the Central Bank of Nigeria, as an act of intimidation.

The apex bank froze the bank accounts of the EndSARS campaigners in the heat of the protests.
