The Federal Government has called on the government of the United Kingdom to remove Nigeria from its list of countries that are under observation for the Omicron variant of Covid-19.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, who made the call, condemned the red listing of Nigeria by the UK because of two cases of the Omicron variant.
Similarly; Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Sarafa Ishola has kicked against the travel ban placed on Nigeria by his host country.
Ambassador Ishola said the restriction on Nigeria by the UK is discriminatory, adding that the new Covid-19 strain may not have originated from South Africa.
