Fmr President Goodluck Jonathan is not leaving PDP – party leaders

The main opposition Peoples Democratic Party has stepped up efforts to reconcile its members who are not happy with the party.

The process is being led by the Reconciliation and Strategy Committee of the PDP, which include former Kwara State Governor and Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

Senator Saraki and other members of the committee visited former President Goodluck Jonathan to hear from him, as part of their assignment.

After the meeting at Jonathan ’s residence in Abuja, Saraki told news reporters that the former President assured them of his strong commitment to the PDP.

Senator Saraki also said the former President informed them that he was ready to offer his time, experience and resources to strengthen the PDP.

Recall that there have been rumours suggesting that Goodluck Jonathan might be joining the ruling APC and could even be presented for the 2023 presidential election.

Such talks were further strengthened last week after Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, announced that former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has joined the APC.
