This report from Cross River State says Governor Ben Ayade has announced his defection from the People’s Democratic Party.
Governor Ayade joined the All Progressives Congress, about six years after he was elected into office on the platform of the PDP, and two years to the end of his tenure.
Governor Ayade announced his defection from the PDP to the APC at the Government House in Calabar.
The National Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the APC, Mai Mala Buni, was also present at the Government House in Calabar to receive Governor Ayade.
Six other APC state governors, as well as members of the Cross River State Executive Council, were also present at Governor Ayade’s defection ceremony in Calabar.
