Lagosians set agenda for new LGA/LCDA chairmen

One week after newly elected local government chairmen and councilors began a new administration in Lagos State, some residents have made a long list of demands from them.

The demands from the chairmen of the twenty local government councils and thirty-seven local council development authorities include clearing of gutters, construction of internal roads, and job creation.

Some residents of Coker-Aguda and Itire-Ikate LSDA, who spoke with Chukwuemeka Obioma of Lasgidi FM, challenged the new council chairmen to perform better than the past people in office.

Also speaking, some workers at the Coker-Aguda LCDA secretariat said they expect the new chairman, Ibrahim Razak Lekan, who served under the past administration, to do better because of his experience.

At the Itire-Ikate LCDA secretariat, Olumide Balogun, who is a Special Assistant to the Chairman, Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira, said they are aware of the high expectations of the people.

Meanwhile; a former chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government Council, Ayodele Adewale, said the people need to part of the government beginning from the election.

Ayodele Adewale, who spoke on Lasgidi FM’s Tori-4-Town, also charged the new local government chairman to focus on improving the life of the people, and let their good work speak for them.
