NEC defends finance minister over alleged printing of N50 billion to share

The National Economic Council has backed the position of the Minister Finance on the alleged printing of more than fifty billion naira to make up for shortage of allocations for the month of March.

The claim was made recently by Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, but the Finance Minister, Zainab Ahmed, said it was false.

The National Economic Council has also declared that there was no time the government printed money to be shared as allocation.

The position of the council was made known to newsmen in Abuja by Laolu Akande, who is the spokesman for the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.
