NYSC member faces love scam charges

A member of the National Youth Service Corp, SAM ABIOLA, has been charged for alleged love scam before a Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin.

ABIOLA was brought before Justice ADENIKE AKINPELU together with one ADEBIYI SODIQ, who is facing separate charges of love scam.

ABIOLA and SODIQ are being prosecuted by the Ilorin Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

The EFCC said ABIOLA, who is currently serving in Kogi State, is facing one count charge, while SODIQ has four counts on his neck.

SAM ABIOLA is alleged to have disguised as a white woman by the name MISSIE BONIE and defrauded one RICK the sum of five hundred and fifty dollars between July and September, 2019.

On his part; ADEBIYI SODIQ, allegedly pretended to be one MARIA MONICA and deceived one MANNY to send him his Cash App.

When the charges were read to both ABIOLA and SODIQ, they pleaded not guilty, and the court proceeded to listen to the prosecution witnesses and admit some evidence.

Thereafter; Justice AKINPELU adjourned both cases to February 11 for judgment.
