The Nigeria Police Force has arrested forty-eight persons it described as notorious criminals, who were arrested within the first ten days of Operation Puff Adder-Two.
The Police High Command also confirmed the recovery of fourteen AK-47 rifles and twenty-seven other prohibited firearms from suspected criminals.
Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mbah, said the suspects, including a woman, had been involved in cases of armed robbery, kidnapping, and financial fraud, among other crimes.
Mbah, who is a Commissioner of Police, said nine of the suspects were arrested in connection to the kidnap of a member of Taraba State House of Assembly, Mohammed Bashir Bape, in December last year.
He said operatives also arrested twelve members of a cybercrime gang in Kubwa area of Abuja, who are between the age of twenty-two and thirty.
Another criminal gang led by sixty-one-year-old physically challenged Musa Usman, from Kebbi State, was also dismantled by the police in Anambra State.
