President Muhammadu Buhari has declared that full utilization of Nigeria’s gas resources has the capacity to uplift the nation’s economy.
President Buhari made the declaration at the launch of the “The Decade of Gas in Nigeria”, which is to achieve a gas-powered economy by 2030.
The launch was done alongside the opening of a conference in Abuja, which is meant to set the stage for the 2021 Nigeria International Petroleum Summit.
In a virtual address to the event, President Buhari said with about six hundred trillion cubic feet of gas in Nigeria, the commodity has the potential to diversify the country’s economy.
