Twisted Federalism cause of sectional agitation; Governor Akeredolu

Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, says that Nigeria’s twisted federalism is the reason for sectional agitations in the country.

Governor Akeredolu said the time has come to restore national consciousness through a proper federal arrangement.

Speaking at a public lecture to welcome his second term in office, Governor Akeredolu lamented that most Nigerians were losing faith in the unity of country.

He maintained that the position of Southwest governors in tackling insecurity is targeted at criminal and not any ethnic nationality or business.

Meanwhile; the President of African Development Bank Group, Akinwumi Adesina, has stressed the need for good governance and a better accountability system in Nigeria.

Adesina said such system should not give room for corruption, and pay more attention to building more economically stronger states.

The former Minister, who was the guest lecturer at the pre-inauguration event, said there should be a new Nigeria where massive wealth would be unleashed across the states.

In the meantime; the Ondo State Government has declared public holiday on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, for the second term inauguration of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
